How to get around Agra?
Getting around Agra can be time-consuming because of traffic, so planning your sightseeing is key.
Taxi apps like Ola and Uber are the best way to arrange a cab – and you can choose any local tour service provider for sightseeing. They are more affordable than the taxi stands.
City Metro is going to start from the comfort of 2 to 3 years, due to which you will not have to stay in the city center. With whose speed, your Agra local tour will become easier in the coming times
Well, now you can take autorickshaw, also known as tuk-tuk. city autos are notorious for taking foreign visitors to Agra, so find out and negotiate the “real” price.
Apart from this, you can hire a car and driver for the day, you can also use the government & public transport service if you want.
Where to go shopping in Agra
Indian cities (and India) is a shopper’s paradise, a city full of markets, shops, shopping centers, and street stalls. I often advise people to wait until the end of their journey and go for a day’s shopping in Agra. There are even shopping trips.
For shopping at Upscale, Sadar Bazar is a one-stop shopping center in central city popular with expats and the diplomatic community.
More traditional markets make for a more intense and exciting experience – try Subhash Bazaar for clothes, Fuhara for souvenirs and Raja Mundi Bazaar for housewives.
Is Agra Safe?
Unfortunately, Taj city (Agra) has a reputation for being an unsafe city in India. It is large-scale, with a population of 2 million or more. The city has many rural expatriates who are sometimes desperate and distracted by city life.
Therefore, crime occurs naturally. However, as a tourist living in a safe area, if you practice to a reasonable degree carefully, you are unlikely to experience any problems.
I can tell you that I have spent at least a year in this city, probably so far, and I have only had a few negative experiences: an Uber driver fired me for about 30 minutes to raise the fare, a The man spit something on my shoes in Connaught Place. These were not pleasant, but I never felt threatened or insecure.
Be very careful about traveling at night, only take a reputable taxi. Do not go to the rural area alone. If you are a woman, keep in mind that men will try to talk to you, take a selfie with you – be very cautious.
If you do not feel comfortable then it is okay to ignore them or walk away. They are rude.
When is the best time to go to Agra
Agra climate fluctuates from lows of about 5 Celsius in late December and early January to close to 50 Celsius in May and June.
The most travel-friendly months are September – November, and February – March. July and August is monsoon, when it cools a bit but becomes sticky and humid. and Best time to visit Taj Mahal (November to March)
What clothes should you wear in Agra
It is important for women to cover the shoulders and legs as a sign of respect – especially if you visit a mosque or temple.
It is a good idea to wear loose-fitting, cotton Indian-style clothes as these outfits keep you cool, suitably polite and can help you fit in better – thereby increasing respect. That means kurta pajama and paint shirt for men and salwar kameez and saree for women (long tunic, pants and scarf).
Some of my favourite spots to buy Indian clothes in Agra are Raja Mandi Market, Sadar Market, Fuhara Market.
Delhi – along with Goa, Mumbai, Bangalore – is one of the most “modern and western” parts of India and you can often walk away wearing western clothes. But still, you are in India. If you are going to any other small city in India, take care of clothes.
What are the best tours to take in Agra?
Most new visitors to Taj city need help to learn how to successfully navigate travel in India. This is very hard to do if you just land in Agra(Taj City) , on your own, and start traveling without any guidance.
It can be done — but you will use up a lot of time and energy feeling lost, overwhelmed and frustrated that could be used for better things.
There are many companies in India that provide different plans for tourists to visit.
Since May, some plans for Agra are as follows.
